OLDE TOWNE CAROLERS – 2021 online auditions – CHICAGO
Olde Towne Carolers, the region’s foremost caroling company, is seeking talented singers for the 2021 holiday season in the CHICAGO AREA at this time. The caroling season runs from mid-November through the end of December.
We have been in operation since 2005, and have performed on national, regional, and local television, as well as radio. Most gigs are at shopping malls, retirement homes, private parties, country clubs, corporate parties, etc. (We’ve operated in the Philly/NYC area since 2005, Boston since 2014, and Chicago since 2018.)
Looking for ALL voice parts. (Ideally, one of each: SATB)
Must have availability every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from Thanksgiving to Christmas.
Candidate Requirements:
*MUST read music
*Either a college degree in music, AND/OR previous professional singing experience
*Reliability
*Excellent musicianship (ability to learn all music on your own)
*Fantastic Team Player
*Good performance skills and stage presence
*Ability to sing in English, German, Latin
*Ability to be flexible and think on your feet – our gigs and venues are extremely varied
*MUST HAVE RELIABLE TRANSPORTATION!!!! (We go to the clients’ venues for the gigs, and not all places are accessible by public transportation. This is something we have no control over.) Travel pay is offered when a gig is 45 minutes or more outside the city.
New members will be required to attend one online pre-season meeting/rehearsal via Zoom. (Online rehearsal meeting is unpaid.)
COMPETITIVE PAY FOR ALL GIGS!!
*No live auditions. Online recordings/submissions only.
Singer submissions will include:
-Three pieces from OTC’s repertoire
(PDF’s of specific songs will be emailed to each singer requesting an audition.)
-One piece of singer’s choice. (Songs or arias from opera, operetta, or legit musical theatre are good choices. NO belting, please.)
